Completion of Grade 10 plus at least one year’s recent related security and or janitorial experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Current First Aid and CPR certification are also required. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing. The candidate must be able to take initiative and work with minimal amount of supervision. The candidate must be able operate cleaning and maintenance equipment, and be capable of doing heavy lifting. The ability to work with, and empathize with people suffering from abuse, poverty, family violence, cross-cultural issues, addictions, AIDS, and other life-limiting illnesses, mental illness, the grief process, and the impacts of colonization and assimilation on Canadian First Nations and Métis people would be an asset. Basic Security Training I and II and Non Violent Crisis Intervention training would be an asset
