The Food Service Worker performs a variety of duties within the Dood Service department such as portioning and serving meals, washing and peeling vegetables and fruit, preparing items such as tea, coffee and toast, and washing dishes. This position operates the dishwasher and pot washer machines, sets, clears and cleans the dining tables, food storage and food preparation equipment. The Food Service Worker cleans and maintains storage rooms by ensuring that stock is rotated and food supplies are stored properly in the designated area.

Qualifications & Skills: 

 Completion of Grade 10 is required for this position. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Food Safe Level 1 Certificate is also required. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing. The candidate must be able to take initiative and work with minimal amount of supervision. The ability to work with, and empathize with people suffering from abuse, poverty, family violence, cross-cultural issues, addictions, AIDS, and other life-limiting illnesses, mental illness, the grief process, and the impacts of colonization and assimilation on Canadian First Nations and Métis people would be an asset
