The Housekeeper provides general housekeeping services and cleaning duties for the clients/residents. This position provides laundry services, picks up belongings, and performs other miscellaneous task to ensure the client’s clothing and environment is in reasonable order. The Housekeeper orders and maintains cleaning and linen supplies and reports maintenance or repair requirements to the Coordinator.
Qualifications & Skills:
Completion of Grade 10 and six months of general housekeeping experience is required. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing. The candidate must be able to take initiative and work with minimal amount of supervision. The ability to work with and empathize with people suffering from abuse, poverty, family violence, cross-cultural issues, addictions, AIDS, and other life-limiting illnesses, mental illness and the grief process is also required. Non Violent Crisis Intervention training is preferred. Building Service Worker Certification or the competition of another certified cleaning course is preferred.
