
Inreach Worker
The In-reach Worker facilitates client support work by liaising with external agencies, housing organizations/companies, and other community supports. This position provides support to women and children in crisis; referrals; advocacy to women and children residing in the Women’s and Children’s Programs and security to women and children in crisis.
· Grade 12.
· 1 year of recent and related experience.
· Current First Aid/CPR Certificates for adults and infants required.
· Valid BC Driver’s License Class 5 and access to a vehicle while on shift.
· Knowledge of child welfare/protection issues.
· Knowledge/awareness of women’s issues.
· Skills in supportive counseling, conflict resolution or other related field.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing.
· Ability to work with people suffering from abuse, poverty, family violence, cross-cultural issues, addictions, AIDS, and other life-limiting illnesses, mental illness, the grief process, and the impacts of colonization and assimilation on Canadian First Nations and Métis women.
