Residential Services comprise three separate residences on Powell St. and Cordova Street.
Victory House
Victory House is a licensed care residence for 47 adult residents with chronic mental illness. Each individual
brings with them their own unique personality as well as complex issues from their past. These include symptoms of their illness
(Schizophrenia, for example), a life of poverty, hardship and sometimes little or no support from their family.
Victory House offers a safe house where they can be themselves. Residents are encouraged to achieve individual small victories
on a daily basis. They are functioning at their maximum and will remain in this "home" for the rest of their lives. Victory House
is considered "supported housing" and provides 24-hour care by Assisted Living Workers. Nursing staff is available during the day
and part of the evening.
Medications and meals are provided. Individual bedrooms, smoking rooms and an activity room comprise a warm environment for social
interaction. Success is measured in small accomplishments. Some residents who never participated in anything have joined the
walking group. Residents work on Tuesdays at Wagner Hills farm planting seedlings. Other in-house work programs give the residents
a sense of accomplishment and provide some extra spending money. The jobs range from cleaning the cafeteria tables, to writing the
minutes of the house meeting, to cleaning the doorknobs.
Our vision statement says a sense of personal freedom is important to everyone's self esteem. With our dedicated staff, students and
support from fund raising we are able to help our residents achieve the self-esteem they deserve.
Santiago Lodge and Cecilia House
Santiago Lodge and Cecilia House provide 39 rooms for residents with chronic mental illnesses that are capable of
somewhat more independent living. An Assisted Living Worker is available from 08:00 to 16:00 daily to provide support, assistance, and
can dispense medications. Each suite has a self-contained kitchen and bathroom. The newly renovated lounge provides a facility for great
artwork to be created as well as volunteer programs once a month. Both homes provide a safe haven that foster peace of mind in a respectful
and friendly environment.
