Somerville Place

Somerville Place offers 31 bachelor suites for individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Each suite has its own kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Somerville Place has allowed St. James to retain some low-cost housing within the community, and put us in a very good position to protect a core of low-cost housing in the middle of what we think will be a very hotly redeveloped and gentrified area. Cordova House

Cordova House is a unique and successful supportive housing model for individuals 45 years and older. We provide fully furnished rooms with personal washrooms (toilet and sink) and 3 meals a day for 66 residents. We also assist residents to link up with services such as Home Support, Home Care Nursing, Mental Health, Alcoholics anonymous, etc.

Our program includes:

• On site financial administration. This provides our residents with a safe environment to receive their money and secures their housing as their rent is automatically paid every month. The financial aid worker may also assist the residents with their financial planning.
• Partnership with BC Housing. This partnership has enabled Cordova House to offer reasonable rent to the residents.
• On site cafeteria. Offering three nutritious meals and two healthy snacks per day for our residents.
• Security staff in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This provides a safe living environment for our residents.
• Community support. Through our great relationships with other community service providers, we are able to offer much needed medical, mental and physical support for our residents

Our dedicated staff, made up of Security/Custodial attendants, Community Living Support Workers, Cooks and Food Service Workers, offers support that allows the residents to live full and independent lives at Cordova House. For more information about Cordova House please contact Noorjahan Rana.
